Foods To Eat And Avoid

In the United States we know all about a whole plethora of foods that can be found in food stores and in supermarkets, especially meat, dairy and veggie. Foodborne illnesses like cold and flu are only rarely diagnosed through food or product testing. In addition to the food quality, these diseases are associated with a variety of health problems, including diabetes.

But there are numerous foods out there that can be found both for healthy consumption and for food safety and nutrition. Some of these include:

  • Protein (meat, dairy),
  • Fat/Lactose (poultry, eggs, grains, etc.),
  • Raw seafood, nuts and seeds (rice, pasta, pasta, breads, breadcrumbs, etc.),
  • Almonds, olives, pomegranate, strawberries, cilantro, garlic, and many more.

Health Benefits

It is known that certain vitamins can benefit from food intake. For example, zinc levels are found in some foods, and iron is in some vegetables (like broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, Brussels sprouts).

Another benefit to the health effects of some types of food is that they may reduce allergies.

One study found that a quarter of adults in rural area were more allergic to apple juice, compared with 3 in 6 Americans in metropolitan metro areas.

Another study demonstrated that people who were given a high dose of a vitamin during sleep, and who went to bed on the night before, were twice as likely to be allergic to certain types of protein as those that never received it.

Another study showed the risk of autism increased with increasing exposure to sunlight in urban or suburban areas.

Some of these foods also appear to cause more serious health issues. For example, in some foods like almonds, they cause cancer and birth defects.
